About Us

Custom Import Arts was founded approx 20 years ago by passionated JDM car performance enthusiasts who fell in love with the Nissan 300zx. Passion and dedication were the basis for a company that grew into a specialized bespoke performance workshop that aims at quality and reliability while raising the performance bar in Belgium for close to 2 decades!
Tom Van Dyck studied Electro mechanics and dedicated his passion to the art of engine building, transmission rebuilding and engine management calibration. On every endeavor, there was a new learning curve as he had to overcome the lack of local know-how. Starting from an old back office, growing in a shed next to his house. Ultimately expanding the company to an industrial area in Grobbendonk.

Car Workshop

In Grobbendonk, Custom Import Arts is now equipped with 5 Car hoists inside a 500m² dual leveled workshop. This contains an electronics preparation area, welding/machining area, and a preparation zone.
Our climate-controlled workshop main room houses a variety of car hoists, toolboxes, and even a special 3000kg remote controlled roof/ceiling transport hoist to lift engines, gearboxes or even complete cars to any location through the workshop. This is a massive upgrade as no traditional engine hoists are required, this makes things not only safer but much more efficient as well.

Dyno

For engine management calibration and software development, we invested in a Superflow SF880e AWD chassis dyno, and a Superflow SF9200 engine dyno for purpose build performance engines. Since the joint venture with ST-Autosport we also re-acquired our previous DYNOSTAR 2WD ( FWD & RWD ) Dyno good for 1500hp and 1600NM.  As an official calibrator and installer for Ecutek, Cobbtuning, Sct Performance, HPTuners, LinkEcu, Syvecs, and many other high-end brands, a massive budget has been spent over the years on these official software licenses to be able to deliver the best solutions for each handled project.
Our dyno installation is equipped with a separated underground exhaust extraction system and a high flow 170KM/h simulated air blower installation for optimal cooling.

Engine cleaning and building room

Our engine room is divided into two sections. The separated engine cleaning area and a designated engine clean room of 30m² designed for building high-quality engines and gearboxes in a clean environment. The first section is a part dismantling and cleaning area, which houses a Torrent 500 Steam cleaner and 15m2 tool benches for multiple jobs. The second section is a climate-controlled engine clean room where we assemble and blueprint all gearbox and engine parts prior to installation.

Solidworks DESIGN STUDIO

A few years ago, another significant investment was made towards the design and development of custom in-house created performance parts. A full-fledged Solidworks Pro Design hub and 3D printing room are built to commit to the custom needs of newer customer cars. For a few years, we learned more about 3D design and integrated a Solidworks triple-screen design studio with the possibility of the 3D rendering of animations of developed products. Combined with the 3D printing equipment, we can create custom parts for most applications.

3D Printing lab

Our in-house 3D printer studio allows us to create every part before final construction. From gears to piston designs, from car badges up to interior parts development. We at Custom Import Arts are your one-stop parts design studio for any race project.

Custom Import Arts is located in the Flemish or North region of Belgium, 1 min from Exit 21 on the E313 Highway Antwerp-Hasselt. The company is at the end of an Industrial area in the village Grobbendonk and protected by law enforcement and securitas. Some GPS devices might be off for about 400m or 1/4 mile. Just drive a lap around the block, and you will easily find it as it is signed well on the street side
